Splash Pool – Full Summary

• A new pool park called Aquaria Park was just opened near Yumenosaki and they want idols to promote them by participating in a variety show-like survival game.
• Every class is supposed to choose 3 students to participate.
• 2-A decides to send out Adonis and Souma, and Hokuto asks Natsume if he wants to be the third one, since he doesn’t think Trickstar should be joining as they’re busy with Summer Live. Natsume says he’s busy that day, so Hokuto has to put his own name down.
• 1-A chooses Hinata and Tetora, and Tomoya’s forced to become the last representative as the class president, just like Hokuto.
• Sora tells Natsume that he wants to go to the Aquaria pool, but Natsume says no because Sora can’t swim and he almost drowned the other day, but Sora manages to persuade him.
• Tomoya sees Hokuto talk to Jin and he’s utterly  a m a z e d  by how much more reliable he is than his teacher and he’s just  d y i n g  to talk to someone about just how  c o o l  his senpai is, so he decides to go to Hajime to gush about Hokuto (because Hajime always talks to him about Subaru) but ends up talking to Anzu instead.
• Tomoya starts panicking about how he doesn’t want to seem lame to Hokuto in the pool, and Anzu tells him to “do his best as Hokuto’s only junior”
• 1-B chooses Yuuta, Shinobu, and Mitsuru.
• Tomoya’s trying to figure out how he should be preparing for the event when he hears someone swimming in the pool, even though it’s after school hours. He finds Sora drowning in the pool and saves him.
• Sora tells Tomoya that he wants to learn how to swim because he wants to play in the pool with Natsume, so Tomoya decides to teach him how to swim. In return, Sora teaches him secrets about survival games, by playing shooting games with him in the game club.
• They keep practicing for a couple days, and Anzu sees Natsume watching them because he’s worried Sora might be pushing himself too hard.

• It’s the day of the event and Tomoya seems nervous, so Hinata says they should start doing calisthenics and starts pulling Tomoya’s limbs. Tomoya screams and Tetora says they were being so loud that he could hear them from the locker room.
• Hinata pretends to shoot Tetora with his water gun and then makes fun of him for getting scared.
• Tetora says he got way too excited about the survival game and couldn’t sleep, and Hinata starts teasing him like “Ho ho ho I went to bed at midnight! Cuz good boys don’t stay up late!!” and Tetora’s like “Uhhh so u did stay up late lol”
• Hinata sees Sora and asks what he’s doing here, and Sora says he’s here to cheer for Tomoya. Hinata says he’s glad Sora and Tomoya are getting close but he’s also getting a little jealous. Sora says Hinata’s also a precious friend for him and thanks him for always getting along with him.
• The twins will be fighting against each other, so they’re trying not to see each other because Hinata knows he won’t be able to attack Yuuta.
• Hinata asks why Sora is wearing the same thing as everyone else and Sora says he was just given those clothes and asked to wear them. Hinata figures they probably thought Sora was also participating.
• Natsume was also given the same clothes and he wanted to give them back but Sora made him wear them too, so he says he hopes his classmates don’t see him… and right after he says that he’s immediately seen by Hokuto. He questions how he could’ve come here for Sora even though he’d said he was “busy” on this day, and Natsume says this isn’t the first time he’s lied.
• Tomoya asks why Hokuto has a floatie and Hokuto extremely bluntly admits he can’t swim.
• Natsume’s shocked and he asks how Hokuto can survive the game like that, and Hokuto says he’ll be fine as long as he doesn’t get in the water.
• Adonis and Souma are late because Adonis was helping a lady who got lost, so Adonis keeps apologizing to Souma and Souma keeps saying it’s fine back and forth over and over again until Natsume cuts them off and asks if they knew Hokuto couldn’t swim and they’re like … Yeah???????? You’d know too if you actually attended classes You Should Consider Doing That Sometime
• Natsume asks Anzu too and she also says it’s fine, but he keeps freaking out so Souma’s like “If you’re so worried why don’t you participate in Hidaka-dono’s place?!” and Hokuto’s like… yeah… yeah that’d be, like, really great actually
• Natsume still says no no no absolutely no, so Sora volunteers and the authorities are fine with it. So now the 2-A team is Adonis, Souma and Sora. Yay!
• Hinata and Sora start chatting about competing against each other and Tetora points out how close they seem, and Tomoya says that when they were training together, he started to understand why Sora and Hinata got along so well.
• Tomoya says he’s also kinda :/// about fighting against Sora and says it’s sorta like in shounen manga when the protagonist fights against his own mentor and Tetora’s like WOOHOHOHO THAT’S SO HOT AND MANLY MMM DYING IN A SUPER SHOWY WAY AH YES YES YES!!!!!!! and Tomoya’s like what wait don’t die don’t ya gotta beat ya mentor first???
• Hokuto says Natsume’s hiding something and he tries to make him say it but Natsume’s as stubborn as always so Hokuto just reveals the big bomb himself… Yes, lads, it’s true… Natsume can’t swim either (gasp)
• Natsume admits that he kept it hidden because he didn’t want to seem lame and he’d be pretty much screwed if Sora hadn’t saved him just now, and he apologizes for the trouble he caused Hokuto.

• The event has started and Adonis and Souma are talking about their past hunting experiences like any other high schooler at a waterpark would normally do. Souma had to leave his sword at home and is having a hard time getting used to a weapon that’s not a sword, so Adonis helps him out with that.
• Natsume thinks Adonis and Souma are gonna wear themselves out really fast if they keep attacking aimlessly, meanwhile Sora seems to have hit his first victim. Natsume then gives him some advice.
• Hokuto says a lot of the other classes seem to have come up with strategies beforehand, and thinks of calling everyone together to make up a plan. Natsume agrees and says that he initially didn’t care if his class won or lost, but now that Sora’s part of it he really wants 2-A to win. Hokuto says he should care about his classmates as well and leaves it to him to come up with a plan because he’s “good at coming up with sly things”
• Hinata’s thinking to himself about how he doesn’t want to mess with Yuuta and Sora because they’re strong and, well, they’re Yuuta and Sora, but he thinks he can easily take down and avoid Souma and Adonis since they’re just attacking aimlessly.
• Hinata attacks Souma, but Souma calls for Adonis and he immediately appears behind Hinata. Luckily, Hinata is really close to somewhere he can hide in. Adonis and Souma tell him that he’s done for and he should just let himself be hit already, but Hinata won’t die so easily!!!
• The scene changes. Tetora comes across Tomoya after walking around with absolutely no idea where his teammates are. Tomoya asks if Hinata’s still alive and Tetora says they would have heard an announcement if he’d gotten shot. Tomoya says they should start moving together.
• Hinata runs right into them while gasping for dear life and they’re both like “Wait wait what’s going on??? I’ve never seen you so tired before you athletic bastard who did this to you!!!!!”
• Hinata tells them about how 2-A just attacked him from all sides and Tomoya’s like Oh crap!!! Did Hokuto-senpai think of this strategy??? We gotta plan something stat!! and Tetora’s like Think of something??? Who??? The three of us??? Hah
• Tomoya sees Anzu recording a video on her phone and Hinata immediately starts screaming her name, which is exactly what you should do in a stealth game,
• Hinata tells Anzu that they’re… pretty much screwed, and asks for her to become their control tower and think of a good strategy for them and suddenly BOOM Sora appears sliding down the water slide and starts shooting at Hinata!
• Hinata’s like Welp!!! I sure as heck messed up!!! Time for a one-on-one duel then!!! and Tomoya wants to join in and guard Hinata but Tetora’s like No… Let The Men Have Their Fight
• Adonis and Souma suddenly appear and surround Tetora. Tomoya tries to save him but Tetora’s just panicking his brains out and dodging without thinking.
• Anzu almost gets hit, and Tetora tells Tomoya to take Anzu and run the heck away. Tomoya hesitates but says okay, and makes Tetora promise he’ll get away safely. Yep, it really is this dramatic
• Tomoya and Anzu are hiding, and Tomoya hears Adonis and Souma speaking about how they feel like someone’s hiding somewhere near. They start saying really specific things like how “it’s not Nagumo” and “there are two people” and Tomoya’s like what the heck!!! how can they know that!!!
• Tomoya tells Anzu to stay there and then rushes out to attack Adonis and Souma (see: his cg). Souma applauds Tomoya for his bravery and Tomoya’s like Welp attacking these two at the same time sure was suicide!!! But if I’m gonna die here I’ll take one of you with me!! and then… we suddenly cut to another scene.

• 1-A won!!

 

• Tomoya says that Souma got too excited and thought he was fighting with his sword??? So he just??? Got really close to Tomoya??? So Tomoya just shot him??? And then Adonis got absolutely baffled and froze and then Tomoya shot him too??? Sorry I’m just astonished that’s      incredible
• Tetora appears like hey guys good job OH BY THE WAY WE’RE ABSOLUTELY INCREDIBLE!!!!!! WE ALL STAYED ALIVE!!!!! WE WON!!!!!!!!!!!
• They’re all soooooo happy and they’re all high-fiving and aaaaahhhhh I love 1-A soooo much okay I’m sorry back to being at least slightly “serious” now sorry ‘bout that
• Anzu tells Tomoya he was really cool out there and Tomoya gets a little flustered and Hinata decides to completely ruin the moment by shooting at them <3
• Tetora says they’re all free to play however they want now and Hinata says he wants to go to the slides!
• Sora’s really sad that they lost and keeps apologizing to Natsume about it, but Natsume says that he didn’t do anything wrong and that everyone’s grateful he participated as part of 2-A’s team and that he should be the one apologizing instead.
• Hokuto says Natsume’s like an entirely different person when he’s with Sora.
• Hokuto’s like hey it’s our free time stop sitting under that umbrella and get in the pools with us but Natsume says that if it’s their free time he should be free to choose not to swim.
• Tomoya accidentally shoots Natsume in the face.
• Tomoya starts talking about how far the water guns can shoot and Hokuto just silently takes out his gun and shoots Tomoya cuz he just Wanted To Try Shooting Once
• Hinata sees this and immediately challenges Hokuto to join their little water gun fight and Hokuto’s more than ready for it, and so Hinata shoots him. Tomoya’s freaking out, by the way.
• Hokuto counterattacks and Hinata runs away saying he’ll find a certain really strong someone to save him
• Natsume tells Sora that he’s going to rest and he should go play with everyone else, but Sora says that if Natsume’s not going to play then he’s gonna rest with him.
• Natsume tells him to get closer so that he can pat his head, and says that he’s proud of him for keeping his promise and learning how to swim. He says that since Sora’s synesthesia makes it really difficult for him to live on land, he probably gets completely lost underwater, so he’s really proud of him for not giving up.
• Sora says he’s not a good boy at all and that he’s at fault for saying selfish things to Natsume and troubling him and Natsume’s like what are you talking about??? Sora explains that when he kept insisting they go to the pool, he thought Natsume was only saying no because Sora couldn’t swim, and he couldn’t notice that Natsume didn’t know how to swim himself.
• Natsume says he didn’t cause him trouble at all, and that he was really happy he invited him to the pool and thought that it’d be really fun to go to the pool with Sora.
• Turns out Sora only realized Natsume couldn’t swim when he was talking to Hokuto about it, and volunteered at the last second to save him from having to swim. Natsume says he’s really glad that he talked to Sora upfront like this without trying to look cool. He didn’t want to tell him he couldn’t swim earlier because he didn’t want to disappoint Sora when he knows he admires him so much. Sora’s like “Why though? Sora can’t swim either! If you’d told Sora, Sora’d be happy to know he’s not alone!” and Natsume just goes “Hehehe you’re such a good kid”
• Natsume says “Well let’s go swim with this floatie now!!!!” and immediately says he’s just joking
• He thinks to himself about how he actually learned stuff from Hokuto today and that he should try being less secretive from now on– the world looks much more bright that way.
• Now we go back to the others… Hinata fakes his death after getting shot by Hokuto, only to be scolded by Tetora to get up because he almost stepped on him.
• Hinata’s gun runs out of water, and Hokuto and Tomoya want to rest, so Hinata and Tetora run off to play on the water slides together.
• Tomoya says he feels like he saw a new side of Hokuto today, and was really shocked to learn that he couldn’t swim, since he’d always thought Hokuto was a flawless genius who was good at everything. Hokuto asks if he was disillusioned, but Tomoya says no, instead he thought it was really cool that he didn’t try to hide that he was bad at something.
• Hokuto says Tomoya was really active on the battlefield today, but Tomoya says he was just running away and not doing much else…
• Hokuto says the way he tried to protect Anzu was really cool, like a “prince”. Tomoya, of course, freaks out, and says that being called a “prince” by THE Hokuto-senpai makes him so so so happy that he’s getting all giddy and hehehehohoho
• Tomoya says Souma and Adonis are Hokuto’s classmates so he’s really not sure if he should be happy about beating them, but Hokuto says he doesn’t care about who won or lost, he was just feeling really proud of Tomoya for working so hard.
• Tomoya says that at first he only wanted to see Hokuto’s gallant figure at this event and didn’t even think of how he himself was participating too, but he decided to do his best as Hokuto’s junior after Anzu told him to do so. He’s really so happy right now, my boy’s living his best life!
• Tomoya asks if Hokuto’d like to spend more time together, and Hokuto says he’d actually like Tomoya to teach him how to swim.
• “Hehehe… Not only was the event a huge success, but I also got praised by Hokuto-senpai! I’m so, so glad I got to participate in this event ♪” and with that, the story’s over!
